More than Meets the Eye

Hey guys today I am going to be completing this task - Let’s imagine that you met Sir Edmund Hillary in real life and were able to interview him.
On your blog, post five questions that you would like to ask Sir Edmund Hillary about his life.
  1. How long did it take you to plan climbing up the mountain?
  2. Did you think you were going to make it?
  3. Were you an optimist person?
  4. How long did it take you to climb the mountain?
  5. We you revealed to have your name in history?THANK YOU FOR READING

  1. Hi Danielle,

It's Leslie here, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team, reading your blog from my home in wintry Canada. I can only imagine how difficult it was for Sir Edmund Hillary to climb Everest in the deep cold because our temperatures are around -20 C and he had much colder weather to deal with. Wow!!

I'm so glad that you're participating in the Summer Learning Journey program this summer. Good for you! I hope you're learning lots of new things in this fun way!

I think your questions for Sir Edmund Hillary are very good. I too wonder how long it took he and his partner, Tenzing Norgay, to plan their climb. They must have had to think about an awful lot of details - how to find water on a snow-covered mountain, how much food to bring, what kind of tent and/or sleeping bag to bring that would keep them warm, what kind of climbing equipment would they need to climb on ice and snow etc. etc. It must have been a huge task to prepare for!!!

I'm not quite clear about your last question, question number 5. Perhaps you're wondering whether or not Sir Edmund realized that one day he would be a famous person, that his name would go down in history. I wonder what he was thinking too...

Do you want to undertake a big challenge like climbing a mountain? Are you an adventurous person like Sir Edmund? Perhaps you'll be famous one day!

    I'm enjoying reading your blog.

    Cheers,

    Leslie
